BASS - Basic Surgery Skill Circumcision

BASS which was held last Sunday from 8.00-11.30 am was an educational event with the purpose of understanding the basic procedure of circumcision. This event was being lead by dr. Asrul Muhadi, SpB who enthusiastically explained the student about the procedure. He also pointed out the important steps and helped the participants who were confused. Furthermore, it was fascinating that tools as common and cheap as condom and chicken heads managed to be a great practice material for basic circumcision. Not to mention, the participants eagerly tried new things, and amazingly made a great progress in performing basic circumcision in a very short time. The event was closed by prayers and motivational encouragement from the speaker to polish and try this new skill on real medical fields, such as volunteering on free circumcision towards the community.

Although there were some issues that almost held back the event, it came out pretty well done, especially since it is the first time AMSA-UPH held a circumcision medical training. Moreover, both the committees and participant gained new knowledge and had a really great time. In the future, we hope that we could held another similar yet improved event like this.
